Welcome all!
I have officially started on my first professional project: Basic Operational Opportunities for Development. Or Bood for short! Interventions and actions that we take to instil positive change and development for ourselves need not be complicated matters of making wholesale changes on our attitudes and beliefs. Change can start small and basic, as long as they are operational, purposeful and useful. This aligns us for the future small successes that we may indulge in.
On an unrelated note if you write "bood" on a piece of paper and look at it through the mirror, it looks exactly the same!
"Wow!" you say...
But in fact the name underlies a bigger significance on the mission of Bood, which seeks to attain congruence and balance for ourselves within and without. Often unhappiness comes from dissonance created when we act against our beliefs and emotions.
By adapting our actions to what we actually want and feel good about, all of us may seek to attain the happiness that seems out of reach for some. By actions, I don't mean impulse responses of "punching" or hurting someone who hurts us or makes us angry, but rather calculated responses which have been thought through, and which ultimately allow us to live effectively and fulfill our potential as human beings, regardless of the hurt or trauma that may have effected us in the past.
The Quran has a saying:
"After every suffering there will be relief"
May we then look forward to the next relief.
Wish all Chinese Readers a Happy Chinese New Year of the OX!
